Program Overview

The CCMRE department, which includes CTE, Advanced Academic, and the Bridge Program, supports campuses in preparing students for life after graduation. It aims to equip all students for a smooth transition to higher education or the workforce. 

Empowering all United ISD graduates to be college, career, or military ready.

  • To provide students with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities to pursue postsecondary education, enter the workforce, or serve in the military through strong academic programs, quality career programs of study, and partnerships with higher education and the industry.
  • To ensure the alignment of UISD’s vision with TEA’s vision and strategic priority of connecting high school to career and college.
  • To contribute to the 60x30TX plan, where 60% of Texans will have a degree, certificate, or credential of value by 2030.

CCMR Accountability

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has defined a set of indicators that students can earn to be considered CCMR-Met by graduation. TEA  awards CCMR points to school districts based on the percentage of graduates who meet these criteria. The points are used as a measure of a school district's success in preparing students for college, career, or the military. Students can earn a CCMR point through the following indicators:

  • Meet the criteria of 3 or higher on at least one AP exam
  • Complete a dual credit course (9 hours in any subject or 3 hours in English or Mathematics)
  • Earn an Associate's degree
  • Be eligible for college credit in an OnRamps course
  • Meet TSI criteria via SAT, ACT, TSI-A, or successfully complete a College Prep Course in English and/or Math. 
  • Complete a CTE program of study and earn the aligned industry-based certification (IBC)
  • Earn a Level I or Level II certificate with an Institution of Higher Education
  • Graduate with a completed IEP and workforce readiness (Special Education)
  • Graduate with an Advanced Diploma (Special Education)
  • Enlist in one of the Armed Forces
  • Enlist in the Texas National Guard
    • Meet the criteria of 3 or higher on at least one AP exam

HB3 CCMR Plans

United ISD provides students with multiple opportunites to attain college, career and/or military readiness by high school graduation.  The following are key initiatives:

  • Increase Dual Enrollment participitation by providing opportunities to earn credit while in high school (Early Start, Gold, Laredo College – Level 1 Certificate, Early College High School).
  • Restructure TSIA success plans to increase passing rates through integrated test preparation, expanded testing opportunities after Algebra 2, English 3 and college prep, and targeted student remediation boot camps.
  • Increase the participations of student taking an AP Exam and meeting passing score of a 3 or higher on AP examinations.
  • Continue the current practices for CTE Programs of Study offerings aligned to an Industry Based Certification for Completer and IBC attainment status (2028 TEA Change).
  • Continue and adjust to TEA approved College Prep Courses in ELA and Math offered to 12th grade students not meeting college readiness through a college entrance exam (2028 TEA Change).
  • Continue with Middle School 8th grade TSIA testing initiative in prepareation for high school dual enrollment opportunities upon entering 9th grade.
