PASS - Optional Flexible School Day Program
PASS - Optional Flexible School Day Program
Identified UISD High School campuses can implement The PASS (Positive Approach to Student Success) Program as a school-wide initiative to improve attendance and reduce the dropout rate. This program targets “out of cohort students” who are at risk of not graduating with their class due to loss of credits due to excessive absences or extenuating circumstances. PASS Program utilizes a myriad of district resources providing campus administration with possible solutions to an existing problem.
The goal of the Positive Approach to Student Success (PASS) program is to meet the educational needs of highly at-risk students at identified high schools who become truant due to accumulating excessive absences. Assistance is provided through:
- implementing campus-wide support and interventions
- developing and implementing credit recovery, adapting curriculum, and differentiating instruction
- providing training or support to campus staff to facilitate the needs of each student placed/accepted into PASS.
