COVID-19 TESTING
-
- The District continues to offer a voluntary K-12 COVID-19 testing program for students who have parental permission and staff who agree to the test.
- The test is self-administered and performed in a group or individually.
- The test is a minimally invasive antigen test which samples specimen from within the nose examining for COVID-19 virus protein.
- To view more information about COVID-19 TESTING visit the Texas Department of Emergency Management at https://tdem.texas.gov/k-12testing/
- The COVID-19 BinaxNOWTM RAPID AG CARD TEST is also available for UISD employees.
If the individual has tested positive for COVID-19 with an antigen test and believes the test was a false positive, and wants to return to school/work before completing the above stay at home period, the individual must obtain a medical professional’s note clearing the individual for return based on an alternative diagnosis, though for health privacy reasons the note does not need to indicate what the alternative diagnosis is.

In an effort to mitigate the spread and symptoms associated with the virus causing COVID-19, United ISD extends the opportunity to eligible students, staff and community members who would like to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by being a provider of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines as approved by the Texas Department of State Health Services. To view available vaccine appointments at United ISD visit www.uisd.net/covid19vaccine or visit the Texas Department of State Health Services to view vaccine locations in Texas https://dshs.texas.gov/covidvaccine/#where.
- The vaccination status of other people or whether they are at risk for severe COVID-19 symptoms is unknown. Therefore, fully vaccinated people should continue to follow the safety protocols of the district.
