Beginning on April 1, 2025, parents may request a student transfer for their child to attend another school outside their school boundaries.  The following is information is the process of applying for a student transfer: 
Requesting a transfer for your child – In-District (reside inside UISD boundaries)

• The following is the In-District Student Transfer process:
• Parents will complete a Student District Transfer directly with the campus principal where you wish your child to attend
• After receiving the student transfer form from the principal, the form shall be submitted in person at the Office of Admission at the address shown below
• Student transfers are reviewed by the Office of Admissions for completeness and accuracy and to render a decision based on the principal’s recommendation

Requesting Transfers for Your Child – Out of District (reside outside the UISD boundaries):

For new students residing outside the UISD boundary and requesting admission to UISD, you shall visit the Office of Admissions first at the address listed below to begin the process.
Parents are required to provide at the time of the transfer request:

• A current utility bill or lease agreement
• Identification (example: driver’s license)

If enrolled:

• A copy of the student’s records which include the latest report card
• An attendance record from the start of the school year
• A disciplinary report from the current or last school of attendance

The following is the Out of District Transfer Process:

• Apply for an Out of District Transfer directly with the Office of Admissions, 201 Lindenwood, Portable #7
• Transfers are reviewed for completeness. Parents are responsible for providing all required documents as mentioned above
• Transfer forms are sent to the appropriate principal for their decision
• Parents will be contacted once the Office of Admissions receives a decision from the campus principal
• All decisions are final.  There are no appeals on Out for District Transfers
