UISD Congratulates Seven Outstanding Band Programs at TMEA Honor Band Area Level

United Independent School District would like to recognize and congratulate our seven outstanding band programs that represented United ISD and Region XIV with excellence at the Texas Music Educators Association Honor Band Area Level.
United ISD would also like to recognize the extraordinary achievements of our high school programs, with the United High School Band earning 1st Place at the Area Level and John B. Alexander High School Band earning 2nd Place at the Area Level. Through these outstanding performances, both ensembles have earned the honor of advancing to the TMEA State Honor Band Level.
Additionally, we extend a special congratulations to the Clark Middle School Band for earning 4th Place at the Area Level and advancing to the TMEA State Honor Band Level.
Having three United ISD ensembles advance to the State Level is an incredible achievement and a reflection of the remarkable talent, dedication, and commitment found throughout our district. These accomplishments place our students and programs among the very best in the state of Texas.
“The Honor Band process represents one of the highest levels of musical evaluation in our profession, requiring exceptional musicianship, preparation, artistry, and commitment from our students and directors. To advance to the Area Level is a tremendous accomplishment and a reflection of the dedication happening daily within our rehearsal halls,” said Director of Fine Arts Joshua Martinez.

“Having seven ensembles represent United ISD at this prestigious level is a powerful statement about the strength and continued growth of music education throughout our district. These accomplishments do not happen by chance - they are the result of outstanding instruction, countless hours of preparation, student dedication, supportive families, and educators who continue to pursue excellence at the highest levels,” Martinez said.
Clark Middle School, United High School, and John B. Alexander High School will continue their journey at the TMEA State Honor Band Level competition in mid-July.
"These accomplishments are a reflection of the hard work put in by our talented students, the guidance and encouragement of our outstanding educators, and the support of our school community,” said UISD Superintendent Dr. Gerardo Cruz. “We are proud of what you have achieved and grateful for the way you continue to showcase United ISD on the center stage all across Texas.”
