United ISD Special Needs Students Shine at Exceptional Youth Olympics

The Bill Johnson Student Activity Complex buzzed with laughter, cheers, and pure excitement as special needs children from UISD’s elementary schools took part in the Exceptional Youth Olympics.
The program welcomes special education students from pre-kindergarten through 2nd grade, offering fun, adaptive games and activities tailored to each child’s individual skills and abilities. In a welcoming and inclusive setting, young athletes get to play together while building basic sports fundamentals, like running, kicking, and throwing.
Families, teachers, caregivers, and community members joined in the fun, sharing the joy of sports and celebrating every participant from the Johnson High School and Alexander High School feeder pattern schools.
Tomorrow’s Session Advisory:
Students from United South High School and United High School feeder pattern schools will enjoy the games tomorrow starting at 9:30AM at the Bill Johnson Student Activity Complex Football Stadium.
The Exceptional Youth Olympics highlights United ISD’s commitment to providing every child the opportunity to experience the fun and benefits of sports in an inclusive setting.
