One lucky high school student from United ISD could be finishing off the school year in a brand new ride thanks to the Drive Sames 4 Education program. The United Independent School District and Sames Honda have officially kicked off the perfect attendance program, designed to encourage students to attend class and strive for academic success.

During this year’s press conference, Sames Honda revealed that they will be giving away a 2027 Honda Civic LX, switching it up from last year, when the winner drove off in a 2026 Honda HR-V. 

Through the program, high school students are eligible to earn a voucher every nine weeks if they meet attendance requirements. They can collect up to 4 vouchers throughout the school year, increasing their chances of participating in the final car giveaway. 

At the end of the school year, the vouchers will be entered into a drawing to determine the 16 semifinalists. They will then participate in the final drawing, where ultimately one student will have the opportunity to win the vehicle.

United ISD thanks the Laredo Federal Credit Union and A&K World Class Driving for covering the vehicle’s tax, title, and license fees as well as providing driver’s education for the winner.  

The Drive Sames for Education program continues to demonstrate the power of community partnerships in supporting student achievement. By rewarding attendance and commitment to education, we are helping students stay focused and work towards their goals. For one student, that commitment could ultimately lead to the keys of a brand-new Honda Civic.
