United Independent School District welcomed its newest educators during New Teacher Orientation, held at United High School Ninth Grade Campus, as the district prepares to begin the 2026-2027 school year.

 

The three-day orientation introduced new teachers to the district's mission, expectations, and resources while providing opportunities to connect with campus administrators, district leaders, and fellow educators. Throughout the event, participants received information designed to help them transition into their new roles and begin the school year with confidence.

 

Sessions focused on the tools, programs, and support systems available to teachers, emphasizing United ISD's commitment to fostering a positive learning environment where both educators and students can succeed.

 

United ISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Gerardo Cruz welcomed the district’s newest educators and emphasized the importance of supporting them as they begin the school year. 

 

“On behalf of United ISD, I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to all of our newest educators as they join our district family. New Teacher Orientation marks an essential first step in laying the groundwork for a fulfilling and successful school year. Ensuring our teachers feel fully supported by mentorship, collaboration, and resources from day one is vital to their confidence in the classroom and to our students' achievement. We are deeply proud to partner with them as they step into their roles to inspire, empower, and shape the future of our community,” he said.

 

In addition to informational sessions, new teachers had the opportunity to meet colleagues from across the district, explore available resources, and begin building relationships that will support them throughout the school year.

 

Gabriella Ramirez, who will be a first-year finance teacher at Alexander High School, was pleased with the support from district administrators and coordinators. “I think the support has been phenomenal. It's there, you can see and feel that everybody is here to support us. I’m very thankful to them for that,” she said.

 

Alberto Gonzalez will be teaching middle school math at the STEP Academy, and was also happy about the preparation UISD provided during these sessions. “I think UISD is the best at preparing their teachers. It's excellent that they're providing all these resources for us new teachers to prepare to come into the classroom,” he said.
