McDonald's Presents Checks to UISD Schools for Fall McTeacher Night

Christmas came a little early for nine United ISD elementary schools. The district garnered nearly $8,000 in funds after participating in the McDonald’s Fall McTeacher Night. Teachers, administrators, and other school personnel volunteered to serve at different McDonald’s restaurants by greeting customers, taking their orders, and serving food. For approximately 3 hours, UISD staff demonstrated their leadership and service skills, all in an effort to raise funds for student programs. Through this collaboration, McDonald’s gave 20 percent of the day’s profits to the participating schools.
“It is a neighborhood event, parents, teachers, and students get to come together for one night and have some fun,” said President of McDonald’s of Laredo, Mike Marrasco. “We’re very proud of this partnership in helping shape student education.”
For over a decade, McDonald’s has partnered with UISD to support student academic achievement. At a recent press conference, McDonald’s presented checks to each of the nine participating schools in the following amounts:
Centeno Elementary $532
Borchers Elementary $532
Killam Elementary $1,000
Gutierrez Elementary $1,025
Salinas Elementary $725
Finley Elementary $900
Clark Elementary $850
Roberto Santos Elementary $950
Ardnt Elementary $1,375
Congratulations to this year’s top-earning school, Ardnt Elementary. UISD is definitely loving McTeacher’s Night and looks forward to the next one in the spring.
