UISD Celebrates Bi-National Educational Week with Laptop Giveaway

The United Independent School District proudly celebrated Bi-National Education Week with a special event recognizing the academic achievements of emergent bilingual students. In partnership with the Mexican Consulate in Laredo, The Coca-Cola Company, and Texas A&M International University, UISD hosted a laptop distribution at the Student Activity Complex, marking the third consecutive year of this collaborative effort.
Fifteen top-ranking high school students from United, United South, Lyndon B. Johnson, and Alexander High Schools were honored for their outstanding performance on the TELPAS exam. Each student received a brand-new laptop, generously donated by The Coca-Cola Company, to support their continued academic growth and digital learning opportunities.
“We’re really excited about the alliance we have with the Mexican Consulate, Coca-Cola, and TAMIU,” said UISD Director of Guidance and Counseling Melissa Ramirez. “It’s essential for us to network with our community, so we ensure that we maximize benefits for our students.”
Bi-National Education Week aims to strengthen educational and cultural ties between the United States and Mexico, celebrating students who bridge both worlds through language, learning, and leadership.
UISD extends its gratitude to all partners and congratulates the fifteen honorees for their hard work, dedication, and academic excellence.
