Carroll E. Summers Jr. Aquatic Center Main
Region VIII-6A Swimming & Diving Championship
From The Ground Up

The United Independent School District has serviced 42,000 plus students for over 35 years with aquatic services. The new Carroll E. Summers Jr. Aquatic Center will continue to provide valuable lifesaving and life skill aquatic services to our students in a state of the art facility.
Our aquatic philosophy adopts a total aquatic approach that extends into our programs and services, providing opportunities to “attain aquatic excellence for each and aquatic safety for All".
The Carroll E. Summers Jr. Aquatic Center (A.C.) will maintain the infrastructure necessary to support the services offered throughout the year and will serve as an American Red Cross Provider. The United ISD A.C. will offer continuing education courses such as in-water safety, aquatic management, and instruction. Our focus will be to insure quality in the services the UISD A.C. offers including lifeguard training for students, staff development and the ability to service our aquatic community.
UISD's association with the University Interscholastic League (U.I.L.) will strive to continue to build a framework within the district’s swimming and diving community to develop a competitive aquatic program in South Texas.
This total program approach will service recreation and competitive swimmers as well as diving and water polo. The main focus will be aquatic safety, aquatic fitness, and the refinement of aquatic technique. The objective will be to provide a venue for our athletes to excel in the highest-levels of aquatic sports.
The United ISD Natatorium shall provide an environment that will enrich the competitive opportunities of student athletes and access to community members.
The goal of the United ISD Natatorium is to provide programs that will exemplify three aquatic components: 1. Educational Programs
