UISD Tees Up Scholarships at 11th Annual Partners Fore Scholars Golf Tournament

Approximately 120 golfers took to the links at Casa Blanca Golf Course this past Saturday for the United Independent School District’s 11th Annual Partners “Fore” Scholars Golf Tournament, an event dedicated to supporting the educational goals of graduating high school seniors.

Organized by the UISD Athletics Department, the annual tournament brings together local businesses, community partners, district employees, and golf enthusiasts for a shared purpose: investing in the future of UISD students through scholarship opportunities. What began as a fundraising event has grown into a longstanding community tradition that combines friendly competition with a meaningful commitment to higher education.

This year, UISD raised approximately $50,000 thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and community. To date, this tournament has raised over $500,000 in scholarship funds, helping hundreds of students pursue their academic goals and take the next step toward their futures.

The tournament’s success was made possible through the generosity of its sponsors, led by title sponsor Powell Watson Auto Group, which contributed $15,000 in support of our students.

We have support services here, custodians, carpenters, electricians, aquatics, ITV, and we couldn't do it without everybody’s support."

Adding to the excitement, Powell Watson Auto Group provided two vehicles as hole-in-one prizes, giving golfers an additional incentive to test their skills throughout the tournament.

 

Players also had the opportunity to win a variety of door prizes generously donated by community partners, including electronics, home appliances, patio furniture, golf clubs, and other items.

 

The UISD Athletics Department extends its gratitude to every golfer, sponsor, volunteer, and community partner who helped make the 11th Annual Partners “Fore” Scholars Golf Tournament a success. Through their continued generosity and collaboration, the community is helping create meaningful educational opportunities for UISD graduates and reinforcing the importance of investing in the next generation.
