UISD Registers Students for 2026-2027 During Enrollment Fair at Nye Elementary
United Independent School District (UISD) welcomed families from across the community to its annual Enrollment Fair on Saturday, April 11, held at Nye Elementary School. The event, which ran most of the day, provided parents and guardians with a convenient, one-stop opportunity to register students from PK3 through 12th grade for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year.
The Enrollment Fair, themed “Your Choice, Your Future,” highlighted UISD’s commitment to supporting families and preparing students for success by offering on-site registration and access to valuable district programs and services.
“We are incredibly grateful to the parents and guardians who took the time to come out and register their children. Your commitment to your child’s future truly makes a difference,” said the UISD Admissions Office.
Families in attendance benefited from a streamlined enrollment process that included pre-screening, LPAC services, nurse evaluations, online registration support, and registrar assistance. The event served as a one-stop resource for families to enroll their children while also learning about academic opportunities and support services available throughout the district.
Program booths featured information on Early Childhood and Special Education services, After School Programs, and Head Start. District staff also highlighted two of UISD’s newest offerings: The Bridge Academy, designed for students seeking to complete their high school diploma, and United Connected, the district’s new virtual high school option launching next school year.
To complete enrollment, families were encouraged to bring required documentation, including a parent or guardian ID, child’s birth certificate, proof of residency, immunization records, Social Security information (if applicable), and proof of income for Pre-K applicants. Returning students were required to provide a parent ID and updated proof of residency. Some Pre-Kinder students who attended were also able to take advantage of onsite testing.
As an added incentive, free backpacks were distributed to new students in grades PK–12, while supplies lasted. Kindergarten students will receive their backpacks during the district’s Kinder Signing Day Ceremony.
The district extended special appreciation to Nye Elementary School for hosting the event, as well as to the students and mascots who brought enthusiasm and school spirit throughout the day.
“We also want to recognize our amazing employees who dedicated part of their Saturday to welcome families, answer questions, and provide valuable services. Their hard work and care did not go unnoticed,” said UISD.
