2020 - 2021 Flu Vaccine Drive Campaign

2020 - 2021 Flu Vaccine Drive Campaign

The best way to protect yourself and your loved ones against influenza (flu) is to get a flu vaccine every flu season. Flu is a contagious respiratory disease that can lead to serious illness, hospitalization, or even death.

CDC recommends everyone six months and older get an annual flu vaccine. To facilitate the vaccination of school age children, United Independent School District will be providing no-cost flu vaccines to eligible students in the district starting Wednesday, October 7, 2020.

Attached is the schedule that specifies the locations for the flu clinics as well as the time. Parents will need to bring the following for each child enrolled in our district that they would like to have vaccinated:

  • Signed consent form
  • Eligibility form, and
  • questionnaire

This year the flu campaign will take place as a drive-thru clinic and everyone will be asked to follow CDC guidelines. Temperature checks will be administered to individuals prior to receiving the flu vaccine. Anyone with a temperature higher than 100.0 will not be administered a vaccine. In addition, everyone inside the car must wear a mask that must cover their nose and mouth. All vaccines will be injectable in the upper arm area.
