 ABOUT US

 

United ISD’s VITA program provides free income tax preparation services for families who have household incomes under $66,000.00. All volunteer tax preparation is executed by United ISD’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) students who have been trained and certified to prepare basic tax returns for low to moderate-income families.

 

 2017 VITA Program Highlights

  • 1,584 Tax Returns Prepared
  • $4.3 Million in Tax Refunds
  • $350,000 Savings in Tax Fees

 

 WHAT TO BRING

 

  • Proof of identification
  • Social Security Cards for you, your spouse and dependents, and/or a Social Security Number verification letter issued by the Social Security; Bring these even if you have done your taxes with VITA in the past.
  • Individual Tax Payer Identification Number (ITIN) assignment letter for you, your spouse, and dependents, if you have been assigned an ITIN
  • Birth dates for you, your spouse and dependents on the tax return
  • All wage and earning statements (Form W-2, W-2G, 1099R) from all employers
  • Interest and dividend statement(s) from your bank(s) (Forms 1099-Int, 1099-Div)
  • Bank routing and account numbers to set up Direct Deposit
  • Total paid for daycare provider and the daycare provider’s employer information (the provider’s Social Security Number or the provider’s business Employer Identification Number (EIN))
  • If you and your spouse are filing a joint return, you both must be present

  • Monto total pagado a proveedores de cuidado en guardería y el número de identificación tributaria del proveedor (el número de seguro social del proveedor o el número de identificación del empleador del negocio)
  • Para presentar electrónicamente una declaración de impuestos conjunta, ambos deben estar presentes para firmar
