The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers FREE tax services to individuals that make $60,000 or less, to individuals with disabilities, to the elderly and to limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified Career and Technical Education (CTE) student and teacher volunteers from the United ISD VITA programs provide FREE basic income tax preparation services at L.B. Johnson High School, United High School and J.B. Alexander High School for low to moderate income individuals and families starting late January.
The United ISD VITA program is under the management of the United Independent School District Coalition. This program is under the direction of the Career and Technical Education Department: Ms. Angelica Sanchez, CTE Director, Claudia Gonzalez, Business and Community Partnership Coordinator and Ms. Adrianna Bautista and Elizabeth Rodriguez, VITA Project Coordinators and under the operations of United ISD's VITA Site Coordinator Sharon Harris.
