United High School and Alexander High School Swimmers To Compete at State Meet

Congratulations to the United High School (UHS), and Alexander High School (AHS), swim team members who are going to compete at the UIL Swimming and Diving State Championships. The state-level competition will take place at the Bill Walker- Josh Davis Aquatic Center in San Antonio, Texas. The boys’ 6A competition is on February 26, and the girls will partake of their 6A competition on March 1.

Nine swimmers will represent UHS. Sofia Gomez will swim 200 Individual Medley, 100 Backstroke and 400 Free Relay.  Alijah Rodriguez will swim 100 Breaststroke and 400 Free Relay.  Sofia Trevino and Diara Aleman will swim the 400 Free Relay.  Emiliano Gonzalez will swim 200 Free, 100 Backstroke, 200 Medley Relay, and 400 Free Relay.  Oscar Martinez will swim 200 Individual Medley, 200 Medley Relay, and 400 Free Relay.  Rodrigo Pandal will swim 500 Free and 400 Free Relay. Joel Martinez will swim 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay, and Alex Gonzalez will swim 200 Medley Relay. Ximena Mendez will serve as the alternate. The head Swim-Coach for UHS is Ms. Sandra Duarte.

Two swimmers will represent AHS. Boy’s qualifier Jorge Mendiola will make his debut in the state-level competition where he will swim the 100 Breaststroke. Girl’s qualifier Edith Martinez is making her 3rd appearance at the state meet where she will swim the 200 and 500 Freestyle. The head Swim-Coach for Alexander High School is Mr. Justin Meza.
