United Independent School District is excited to announce the appointment of Griselda Flores-Ibarra as the new Principal of Arndt Elementary school.
A product of UISD, she is a graduate of United High School. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Reading from Texas A&M International University, and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration. She is the daughter of Juan and Aurora Flores, and has two sisters, Imelda and Nelda. She is married to Juan Carlos Ibarra, and they have two sons, Charlie and Mateo. She attributes her success to the support of her family. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading books, and supporting her kids in their extra curricular activities and school events.
Ms. Flores-Ibarra brings many years of experience as an educator to her new role, having been with the District for 21 years. She worked for ten years at Finley Elementary School as a third and fourth grade teacher. In 2013, she was promoted to the post of Assistant Principal at Arndt Elementary, and served the campus community for 10 years, and Prada Elementary for 1 year in the same capacity. She dedicated herself to supporting the campus principal in leading the campus, supporting the staff, and maintaining an open-door policy.
She has high expectations for the upcoming school year, and aims to continue increasing the academic performance of all students and build positive relationships with the staff and community. Through teamwork and clearly defined goals, she plans to impact student learning and increase campus state scores.
“I feel extremely blessed and grateful for the opportunity to serve Arndt Elementary as campus principal. I want to thank the UISD Board of Trustees and our Superintendents in charge for their trust and support. I look forward to working in my new capacity as principal at the Cardinal Nest,” she said.
Griselda Flores-Ibarra will replace retiring Arndt Elementary Principal Juanita Zepeda, who has led the school since its opening in 1999.
