A teacher at Ruiz Elementary received an unexpected special visit and accolades from KGNS-TV and a local law firm for her hard work and dedication.
First Grade Teacher Cynthia Jimenez was quite surprised when Ruiz Elementary Principal Monica Zepeda entered her classroom along with Assistant Superintendent of Policies and Administration Rebecca Morales, local attorney Joey Tellez, KGNS News Anchor Mindy Casso, and a host of TV cameras to inform her and her students that she was selected KGNS Teacher of the Month. Her students cheered exuberantly as they were thrilled that their teacher was getting such an important recognition.
“I’m speechless and not expecting this,” said Mrs. Jimenez.
Cynthia Jimenez has devoted 15 years to teaching. To her, the most important part of being an educator is making sure they know their potential. “At the end of the day, it’s so rewarding to see the progress they make from day one to the end of the school year,” she said.
Every month, KGNS and the Tellez Law Firm recognize teachers who have demonstrated their dedication and who make a positive impact on the lives of students. Each Teacher of the Month is awarded a $250 gift card, a basket of goodies, and a personalized mug and T-shirt.
