Alexander High School Student Awarded PEG Energy Scholarship

Alexander High School senior Samuel Del Bosque was awarded the PEG Energy Scholarship on Friday. Every month, PEG Energy partners with KGNS to select a high school student from our district who will receive a $500 scholarship. Samuel’s academic achievement and extracurricular activities made him stand out from a large pool of top candidates. Ranked number one in his class, Samuel participates in UIL Math and Robotics. Outside of school, he volunteers at his local church’s kids ministry.

Alvaro Pequeño, owner of PEG Energy, was impressed with Samuel’s application. “One of the things that stood out was his community involvement. It’s one thing we’re big on. We see that as a good future asset to Laredo.”

Samuel plans to attend Stanford University and study renewable energy. He intends to use his scholarship for books and tuition. He owes his success to his parents and his faith in God.

“I want to thank my parents who have been a great support, especially my mom who is always cheering me on. I thank God because it’s his grace that allows me to accomplish these things, and I’m incredibly grateful to PEG Energy. I love what they’re doing for renewable energy.”

Congratulations to Samuel on his accomplishment!
