United Independent School District recognized the Technology Professionals at a staff training meeting on Sept. 19, which was National I.T. Professionals Day.
The staff training included all employees in the Technology, Fixed Assets, Custodial Services and Support Services who are invaluable to the operation of our school district, said Hector Perez, Assistant Superintendent of Technology.
“We wanted to recognize our Technology Professionals at the meeting since September 19 was declared that day,” said Perez, who added there are about 100 such workers in the district. “It motivates our employees.”
National I.T. Professionals Day, created in 2015, recognizes the technical experts “that make sure our computer systems run smoothly,” according to NationalToday.com
According to Perez, the purpose of the meeting was to train district employees on sexual harassment, bullying, employee leave and absences, fraud and ethics. There was also a presentation by Mrs. Adriana Ramirez, Executive Director of Federal Programs, on "Be our guest" from Disney.
“The presentation included how to provide the best customer service and how to believe in our district mission and goals.We also provided our employees with the years of service pins and employees received recognition for their hard work and dedication to UISD from 10 to 30 years of service,” Perez added.
“All employees in the Technology, Fixed Assets, Custodial Services, and Support Services are invaluable to the operation of our school district,” Perez said.
