Lyndon B. Johnson Senior Awarded Rotex Truck Center Scholarship

Congratulations to Lyndon B. Johnson Senior, Miguel Sanchez on being awarded a scholarship by Rotex Truck Center Inc. Since the beginning of October, Rotex Trucking had been collaborating with students from UISD to help them pursue a future career. It started with classroom presentations, followed by a field trip to their facility and students shadowing diesel technicians over Thanksgiving break, Winter Break and Spring Break. This April, Rotex selected Miguel to sponsor him to receive training at the Uptime Academy in Chicago.

"I feel very fortunate and very excited for this scholarship because it is a one in a million opportunity, especially in Laredo," said scholarship recipient Miguel Sanchez.

He will be traveling every two weeks for an entire year for his academy and hands-on training. All expenses will be covered by Rotex including the cost of academy, travel, hotel and meals. Miguel will be on their payroll beginning this month and will have job security with Rotex upon completion of the program. Congratulations Miguel on this fantastic opportunity!
