The United Independent School District congratulates Rosa Cabello on her promotion to Director of Accounting. Cabello transitions into her new position with ample experience having worked for the district for 25 years with 21 of them as the accounting manager in the Business Office. During her time as Accounting Manager, Cabello achieved 6 consecutive years with no audit findings and was able to implement the Kronos timekeeping system together with the IT department. Prior to working at UISD, she worked for Webb County in the Community Supervision and Corrections department and in the Finance department for the City of Laredo.
In her new capacity, she will supervise the Business Office which includes accounting, budget, payroll and treasury management. Her goal is to improve the work quality and productivity by providing financial accountability and supporting the district’s teachers and staff with their daily needs.
“I am very honored and humbled to be named Director of Accounting. I would like to thank the Lord, the Board of Trustees, Mr. Gonzalez, Mrs. Benavides and a special thanks to Mr. Sam Flores for his guidance and support during my tenure here at United. I am also very thankful for the Business Office staff, district secretaries, budget technicians, finance clerks and bookkeepers,” said Ms. Cabello.
Cabello says she is proud to work for United ISD alongside some of her family members who work at Washington Middle and United High School. Cabello graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Professional Accountancy from Texas A&M International University.
Cabello has been married 27 years to husband Arturo Cabello who works with Border Patrol in information systems. They have 3 daughters, Alejandra, Monica and Isabella who are currently attending TAMIU and Laredo College.
