 Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

The United Independent School District is closely monitoring the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and is in contact with the City of Laredo Health Department to ensure all students and staff members are safe and updated with the latest information from the Center for Disease Control, Texas Health and Human Services, and Texas Education Agency.

 Online Learning Through Google Classroom

United ISD is working diligently to meet your children's academic needs. The district wants to assure parents, students, and our community that student/staff safety and learning are our top priorities. As such, the district will be transitioning into an Online Learning Platform - Google Classroom effective Monday, April 6, 2020.

 United ISD Grab and Go Meals Information

Beginning Monday, March 23rd, drive-through food distribution will be offered at select school sites across the District. Meals kits will be provided to any child 18 years old and younger.  Each meal kit will include breakfast and lunch and will be distributed at the front parking area of each school site on a drive-through basis.

 Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT)

We understand the challenging circumstances you are experiencing and wanted you to know your household may be eligible to receive Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) benefits to buy food from any retailer that accepts the Texas Lone Star Card.

P-EBT is a one-time benefit of up to $285 and will be issued on an EBT card to assist families during this unanticipated school closure.

 Tax Office Notice

Out of an abundance of caution, the United ISD Tax Office will be closed to the public until further notice. Taxes can be paid online, via mail or Tax Office drop box.  If you have any questions please contact the United ISD Tax Office at 956-473-7900.

Campus and Student Activity Guidelines and Procedures for End of Year
April 23, 2020

As you receive this information, we hope that everyone is staying positive and safe. Due to COVID-19 and social distancing requirements, we have put forth some guidelines and procedures to help campuses continue to operate and close activities at the student activity level. We are all going through some stressful times and doing our part to stay safe right now, so our main priority is to make things as easy as possible when it comes to student activities. So with that in mind, signatures are not mandatory at this point but please make sure transactions are in compliance with the Campus and Student Activity Funds Manual.

EXTENDED DISTRICT CLOSURE THROUGH END OF ACADEMIC YEAR BY EXECUTIVE ORDER OF GOVERNOR GREG ABBOTT
April 17, 2020

United ISD’s closure will be extended to the end of the academic year, initially scheduled for May 28, 2020, as per Texas Governor Gregg Abbott’s Executive Order. Students and parents should continue to follow through with the assignments and instructional materials provided on the remote online instructional program.
