LBJ Boys Cross-Country Team Earns District 30-6A Title

Congratulations to the Lyndon B. Johnson Boys Cross Country Varsity Team. They are the 30-6A district champs.  This title is a first for the Mighty Wolves in the campus' 20-year history.

The boys' team has been battling with Nixon for the past three seasons. Two years ago, they finished 4th behind Nixon by two points. Last year, they finished ahead of Nixon by 2 points, but COVID affected the post-season by only advancing two teams instead of three. This has been a long-awaited trip to regionals for the Wolves.

Coach Daniela Prado stated, "The boys are incredibly grateful and humbled by the amount of support they have received. Since June, we have been having early morning practices in hopes of a district title that would also make school history. I'm most impressed about their ability to celebrate their championship and remain focused for regionals. As a coach, I want them to stay hungry and continue striving for success. It's amazing to see how this has already fueled the fire for them and also their teammates. They were relentless in their pursuit for a title and sticking to the belief of trusting the process."
