United Independent School District Board of Trustees and Superintendent David H. Gonzalez are pleased to announce Christina S. Casanova as the Executive Director for Instructional Accountability for Curriculum & Instruction.
Ms. Casanova is a twenty-eight-year veteran educator of United ISD with an extensive background in education. She holds a Bachelor of Business Degree from The University of Texas at San Antonio and a Master of Science Degree from Texas A&M International University.
For the past seven years, she has served United ISD as the Director for Student Assessment. Before working as Director for Student Assessment, she served the District as a Testing Coordinator, Assistant Principal, Instructional Specialist Blue Team, Reading Teacher, and an Elementary School Teacher.
Ms. Casanova's passion for education has led to her success as an educator and organizational leader. She successfully led the students assessment department through facilitating campus and district administrators in strengthening the administration of all state assessments.
Ms. Casanova stated, “I am overjoyed to be the Executive Director for Instructional Accountability of this wonderful District. As we approach the start of the 2021-2022 school year, I am grateful to be a part of this community of students, parents, teachers, and administrative staff, all of whom are united in their desire to provide the best environment possible for each individual child.
Ms. Casanova succeeds Mrs. Emma Leza, who has been named Associate Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. She will assume her newly appointed position as Executive Director for Instructional Accountability immediately.
