September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, so teachers and administrators at United ISD's Arndt Elementary showed their support by displaying shades of gold and yellow shaped into hearts, ribbons, and pom-poms. Principal Juanita Zapeda said that her campus wanted to show their support for the cause. National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month increases pediatric cancer awareness for funding and research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure. The observance also sheds light on families who have lost their children and advocate for kids to continue to fight the disease.
