Laredo, Texas- United ISD: Campus, District, and Community members joined together for another landmark moment in United ISD’s esteemed history, the dedication of Salinas Elementary. Leading the ceremony were United ISD's Board of Trustees, Superintendent Mr. Roberto J. Santos, Principal Abraham Rodriguez and members of the Salinas family to mark the celebration. Also in attendance were Leyendecker Construction, Juan Homero Sanchez Architect, and Metaform Architects Studio. They are the Engineers and Architects who lead all construction efforts at United ISD.
The late Octavio Salinas was a beloved member of the Laredo community. He was the founder of Laredo Packing Company and belonged to several local civic and charitable organizations. The campus that bears his name has the capacity to accommodate over 900 students, and provide them with state-of-the-art computer labs, fully equipped science classrooms, Special Education classrooms, a spacious cafeteria, an outdoor amphitheater and courtyard for instructional purposes.
“We look forward to celebrating the successes of many students who have begun their educational journey here at Salinas Elementary,” said Abraham Rodriguez, School Principal.
