United Independent School District, Laredo, TX – United ISD is proud to announce the swearing-in of Gilbert Aguilar, Jr. as the newest member of its Board of Trustees, representing District 1. Mr. Aguilar’s ceremony took place this afternoon in the United ISD Board Room located at 201 Lindenwood.
Mr. Aguilar proudly served his community as the Mayor of Rio Bravo for three years, and prior to that worked in the oil fields, and as an educator. Mr. Aguilar has a strong passion for education and the success of students, and is eager to bring his expertise to the Board of Trustees to help make a positive impact on United ISD. As mayor, Mr. Aguilar brought a lot of services to the city of Rio Bravo. He will now work hand-in-hand with the District and his community to maintain school safety and support UISD students, parents, and staff for a better tomorrow!
Mr. Aguilar has resigned his office as Rio Bravo Mayor and vacated that office in order to serve as Trustee for District 1. United ISD and Superintendent David H. Gonzalez are thrilled to welcome Mr. Aguilar to the Board and look forward to working with Mr. Aguilar and his colleagues on the Board of Trustees to continue United ISD’s legacy of excellence in education.
