United ISD Secondary Schools Accepting Applications from 8th Graders for Magnet Programs
Alexander, United and United South High School remind all United Independent School (UISD) District 8th graders that the deadline to submit applications for their Magnet School Programs is January 30, 2012. Applications are available at the counselor’s office of all UISD middle schools and high schools.
All applications must meet the following criteria:
- Must reside in the UISD boundaries (with proof of enrollment);
- Incoming 9th grader for the 2012-2013 school year;
- Composite grade average of B (80%) for (math, science, language arts, reading and social studies, based on January 2012 report card in the 8th grade and the May 2011 report card in the 7th grade; and
- Score within the appropriate range on the Cognitive Abilities test (CogAT), based on the ranking of all applicants.

Mandatory Testing Dates, Sites and Hours:
February 4, 2012 - UHS 9th Grade Campus, USHS & AHS, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
February 11, 2012 – SAC Rooms 1 & 2, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
February 25, 2012 – UHS 9th Grade Campus, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
