Dropout Recovery

Goal:  Increase the District’s graduation rate through the effective implementation of a dropout recovery program.

Mission:  Our mission is to deter students from dropping out of school by developing a comprehensive approach which focuses on: (1) prevention initiatives to assure that students do not fall behind academically, (2) interventions to help students who have fallen behind academically, (3) a collaborative approach to support students and their families facing multiple barriers to educational success, (4) school environments that are safe and nurturing to both students and their families, (5) communication of the Dropout Prevention/Reduction efforts to the Public and (6) accountability systems to assure that students graduate from high school.

Anyone under 21 who wants to come back to school and obtain a high school diploma contact Grace Lopez, Director of Dropout Recovery/Student Affairs at (956) 473-6249 or glopez@uisd.net with the Office of Student Services.
