graduation rate through the effective implementation of a
Dropout Recovery Program.
Mission
Statement
The mission of the United
Independent School District’s Dropout Recovery/Student Affairs
program is to prevent students from dropping out of school,
locate students who have dropped out of school and assist
campuses achieve a high Average Daily Attendance (ADA) through
district/school initiatives, enforcement of the Compulsory
Attendance Law (Chapter 25) and parental involvement.

Attendance
United Independent School
District currently has thirty one (33) Attendance Officers which
include three (3) court coordinators with the JP courts.
Attendance Officers service our four (4) high schools, nine (9)
middle schools, twenty-six (27) elementary schools and STEP
Academy (Alternative Education Disciplinary Program). Their
purpose is to enforce attendance policy, assist campuses achieve
their Average Daily Attendance (ADA) goals, and involve parents
with student attendance issues.
