The pageantry was led on the field by last year’s Best Percussion Section, United High School.  Also assembling in the center of the field was last year’s first place winner, Alexander High School.

Violet H. Marlowe, Assistant Director of Fine Arts and Javier R. Vera, Director of Fine Arts organized this event for the second consecutive year.  In addition, Gateway City Marching Festival committee members, Yvette Miranda, Carlos Miranda, San Juanita Rodriguez, and Elias Flores  coordinated the event. Other Band Directors that also coordinated the event by contributing their time were: Hiram Gonzales, Roel Flores, Chris Moore, and Joe Martinez.  Pete Martinez of the UISD Communications Department provided each band director with a video tape of their performance.  In addition each band received audio taped comments from each judge whereby they made constructive remarks to improve their shows as they prepare for UIL Marching Contest.

All Laredo bands and surrounding area bands  went on to compete in the UIL Marching Contest October 18th at Robstown High School.
