Stephanie Sanchez and Maria de
Rosario "Chayo" Garcia, Lyndon
B. Johnson High School; and Cory
Jarro and Laura Machuca, United
High School.
The
Laredo Independent School
District honorees included
Candelario "Cande" Hernandez,
Nixon High School; Jose Luis
"Pepe" Martinez and Cruz Botello,
Martin High School; and Jesus
Abraham Garza and Esmeralda
Castillo, Cigarroa High School.
Each
student honored in the Special
Students of the Month program
received a trophy, certificate,
and special gifts from sponsors
such as the Laredo Young Lawyers
Association, Webb County
District Attorney's Office,
International Bank of Commerce,
Pizza Hut, Guerra
Communications, Coyote Creek,
Wendy's, Westwind Homes, and the
Laredo Entertainment Center.
At
the end of the ceremony, Alfredo
Jasso, Principal of United High
School, invited the students,
teachers and parents to a
luncheon held at the campus
library. The students were also
surprised by a visit from
special guests - Bucky, mascot
for the Laredo Bucks
Hockey Team.
