Program Overview

The Department of Instruction for Secondary Education in Social Studies is designed for the purpose of providing a consistent and well rounded academic program for all students.  Our central goal is to provide students with an understanding and appreciation of diverse civilizations, past and present, thus enabling students to make connections as to how they have impacted societies politically, economically and socially.  Our vision is to help students develop historical consciousness, awareness of civic responsibilities and a general appreciation of cultural diversity.
