YOUR DONATIONS WILL HELP STUDENTS BE PREPARED FOR SCHOOL
Responding to United Independent School District’s (UISD) call for school supplies and new and gently used uniform items to help those students whose homes were effected by the recent flood, Rebecca Mendoza made a special trip to the District’s main offices to drop off a donation of school supplies. Mendoza, an early childhood education major at Texas A&M International University, said she wanted to donate to the District’s collection drive because “…extra expenses for these families are difficult and every donation helps.” UISD will be hosting this special collection drive from now until August 20. Currently, there are three donation drop-off locations:
- UISD Central Offices – 201 Lindenwood Drive
- the UISD Student Activity Complex – 5208 Santa Claudia Lane, Hwy. 359
- and the Imaginarium at Mall Del Norte.
Donations at the two UISD locations can be made Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., during regular business hours. The first day of school for all UISD students is Monday, August 23, 2010.
