United Middle School 8th Grade Science Teacher Christie Lopez was surprised by Office Max during their “A Day Made Better” event. It is an annual, one-day event that awards more than 1,000 educators from across the United States with more than $1,000 each in school supplies. The “A Day Made Better” event has contributed more than $4 million worth of educator materials to teachers. At the surprise announcement, Ms. Lopez said she is grateful for the honor and will be using the much needed supplies which included a laminator and camera, among other pricey items, with her students. The Laredo Office Max Store has been sponsoring “A Day Made Better” for the past six years.
