Program Overview

The Department of Elementary Mathematics promotes excellence in teaching and learning by enabling all students to build a foundation of basic understandings in number sense, number operations, and quantitative reasoning; patterns, relationships, and algebraic thinking; geometry and spatial reasoning; measurement; probability and statistics; and problem-solving. Our department provides a high quality TEKS-based scope and sequence aligned with state and district standards and enhanced with meaningful learner-centered activities and technology applications. We provide staff development opportunities for teachers and parents to empower students to reach maximum academic success and develop positive attitudes in acquiring proficiency in mathematics.
