Program Overview

The district curriculum is closely tied to the Pre-Kindergarten Guidelines and Kindergarten TEKS issued by the State of Texas for all students.  Pre-kindergarten and Kindergarten students receive instruction in all of the areas of language and literacy, mathematics, social studies, science, technology, health, visual arts, music, and physical education to prepare them for success in kindergarten and on to first grade and beyond.

Early Childhood curriculum requirements are aligned with a state-adopted curriculum that integrates subject areas and concepts throughout a strong literacy development program.  Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten is the foundation level of curriculum matrices for language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. A learner–centered instruction builds upon a safe and nurturing environment that promotes growth in all areas of physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
