Does UISD have a policy to publish web pages ?  

All teachers and staff that are interested in publishing a web page must fill out a UISD Official Request Form for Web Page Publishing (form number 880-007.pdf). Any training or questions in developing web pages please email webmaster@uisd.net .  back to top

Who do I contact if my telephone is not working ?  

You need to complete a Telephone Service Work Order (form number 880-002.pdf) and fax it to (956) 717-6200. Please include a detailed explanation of  the service being requested, room number, and the contact person. .Mr. Casey King, Voice Communications Specialist, is in charge of voice communications in the school district. The work orders are placed on a service schedule on a "first come first serve” basis, except on emergencies.    back to top

What do I do if my computer or printer is not functioning correctly?  

You need to complete a Software/Computer Service Request Form (form number 880-001.pdf) and turn it in to the Microcomputer Technician assigned to the school or department. Mrs. Judith Escamilla-Ortiz, Technology Services Administrator, oversees all computer software and hardware issues in the school district and may be reached at (956) 717-6370 or email judye@uisd.net .   back to top

How can teachers and staff apply for an electronic mail account?  

All teachers and staff must fill out and sign the Employee Agreement for Participation in an Electronic Communications System Account Form (form number 880-004.pdf) in order to receive an electronic mail account. The form must be completed and signed every school year. Mr. Cesar Tamez, Network Operations Specialist, administers access and maintains the district network and may be reached at (956) 717-6370 or email ctamez@uisd.net .     back to top

How can students obtain an electronic mail account and access to the Internet ?  

Students must complete the student agreement for participation in an Participation In An Electronic Communications System (form number 880-007.pdf) or the Spanish cuerdo Para Participacion Del Estudiante En El Sistema Electronico

Does UISD have a technology plan ?  

Yes, UISD has a three year technology plan that was developed by the technology committe composed of teachers and administrators. The plan has been approved by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and it covers four areas: Teaching and Learning, Educator Preparation and Development, Network Infrastructure, and Administrative Services.  back to top

What purchase requisitions are approved by the Technology Department ?  

All purchase requisitions that include items like computer hardware, software, peripherals, network equipment, telephone systems, two way radios, paging devices, and cellular phones. This will ensure that district’s hardware and software standards will be met. All instructional software requisitions will be sent to the department of Instruction for approval in order to ensure proper integration of technology into the curriculum plan.   back to top
