Mission of the Grants Administration Department
The mission of the Grants Administration Department is to provide a structured approach to pursue and facilitate grant programs and initiatives that are strategically aligned with the district’s mission statement (“UNITED, we inspire all students to become responsible world citizens by pursuing excellence through life-long learning”), the District Improvement Plan, and the superintendent’s goals.
Goals of the Grants Administration Department
The goals of the Grants Administration Department are to:
• Disseminate possible grant funding sources to the district’s campuses and departments;
• Initiate the process of program planning for grant opportunities at the local, state, and federal levels;
• Facilitate the program planning, design, and evaluation through scientifically based research; and
• Aid in the reporting and review processes for ongoing discretionary grant programs in order to ensure conformity to the program design and to the requirements of the granting agency.
Objectives of the Grants Administration Department
The main objective of the Grants Administration Department is to provide guidance and assistance in the program planning, completion, and timely submission of grant proposals to benefit the students, staff, and facilities of the district. Additional objectives are to:
• disseminate information regarding applicable grant opportunities to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner;
• facilitate grant program planning and design;
• develop programs that are reasonable in both expenditures and expected results/interventions;
• work closely with staff to ensure grants are delivered to the funding agency by the required deadlines;
• practice and encourage a high level of fiduciary responsibility, especially since most stated and federal programs are funded by taxpayer’s money; and
• maintain a high level of professionalism with stakeholders.
