Mission

The mission of the United Independent School District Office of Public Relations is to: promote and highlight the academic accomplishments of our students, as well the achievements of our faculty, staff, and District, to our various stakeholders through the effective use of two-way communication and various media outlets.

Meet the UISD Public Relations Team

Paola Arcos Mansinghani serves as a Communications Specialist/Publications for the Office of Public Relations. Paola has her bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from Universidad de Monterrey. Paola previous work experience includes the following: publications and graphic design at the Laredo Independent School District, Laredo Morning Times, and El Manana newspaper. Paola enjoys painting in her spare time and enjoying cooking gourmet food.

Alex Meyer serves as a Communications Specialist for the Office of Public Relations. Alex has his bachelor’s degree in Communications from Loyola University in New Orleans, Lousiana. His previous work experience includes the following: Creative Services Producer at KGNS-TV and part owner of KBDR radio station where he also managed publicity, administrative office duties, and production work. He is an avid music lover with an extensive knowledge of various music genres which reflect his music collection.

Rocio G. Moore serves as a Communications Specialist/Publications for the Office of Public Relations. Rocio has her bachelor’s degree in Communications from UVB and her Master of Science in Education from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. She also has her Adobe certification in Photoshop and is owner and publisher of I Love Laredo newspaper. Her previous work experience includes the following: teaching Advertising and Graphic Design at Martin High School, Desktop Publisher/Graphic Designer at the Laredo Independent School District Printing Department, Creative Services Director at Laredo Morning Times, and Graphic Designer at El Manana Newspaper. Rocio enjoys volunteering in the community.

Veronica “Roni” R. Cantu serves as Director for the Office of Public Relations. Roni has her bachelor’s degree in Communications and master’s degree in Public Administration from Texas A&M International University. Her previous work experience includes the following: a reporter at KVTV, the Honorable Henry Cuellar in his capacities as State Representative and Secretary of State, Communications Specialist at the Laredo Independent School District Office of Communications, and as a Legislative Liaison with the City of Laredo. She enjoys volunteering her time in the community.
