Instructional Accountability

The Instructional Accountability Department, under the direction of Dr. Guadalupe C. Gorordo, Executive Director, oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of instructional programs to develop and support student academic achievement. The Department supervises the areas of Bilingual/ESL/Dual Language/ Foreign Language, Professional Staff Development/ Special Projects/ Library Science, Gifted and Talented/ Advanced Academics, Testing, Fines Arts, Dyslexia/ Section 504 and Guidance and Counseling.

This Curriculum and Instruction area sees to training for campuses in the administration of all state and district-mandated tests, reviews educational performance and trends that chart the academic progress of all UISD students, monitors the accuracy of student demographics to ensure accurate student subgroup accountability while adhering to compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations. In conjunction with various other departments, the division accomplishes its mission by systematically assessing, analyzing, and disseminating the district’s local and state assessments results to support the performance and accountability in UISD.
