Chinese New Year celebrated at Gutierrez Elementary

Fourth graders at Gutierrez Elementary School learned about celebrations associated with the Chinese New Year. The students paraded through the school hallways in colorful regalia and displayed their projects that illustrate the worldwide impact of Chinese culture.

United High School Choir receives unprecedented opportunity to raise money for New York City trip

United High School Choir Director Paul Foster rehearses with the U.H.S. choir on the eve of their live performance with rock group Foreigner.

The United High School Longhorn Choir has been invited to perform the Mozart Mass in C Major “Coronation Mass” under the direction of Maestro Myron Flippin, at the famous Carnegie Hall in New York City on June 3rd through the 7th, 2010. In order to participate, $117,000 must be raised to send 65 choir students to New York City. The cost is $1,800 per student. The choir group must raise an additional $40,000.00 by April 1st to meet their final payment deadline. To donate, contact UHS Choir Director Paul Foster at (956) 473-5600.
