Alexander High School Holds Scholarship Signing for 5 Students

Five students at Alexander High School are on their way to fulfill their college dreams. Each of them accepted scholarships to different universities at a signing ceremony held in the school’s gym. School administrators, faculty, staff, fellow students, and family members were present to witness and celebrate this milestone in the lives of the five recipients.  

Abby Buenrostro accepted a scholarship to play volleyball at Texas A&M International University.

Alex Morales will be going to Letourneau University in Longview, TX to play basketball.

Alejandra Lozano will be joining the cheerleading team at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Greg Salinas, III signed on to play golf at North Central University in Minneapolis, MN.

Michael Casso will be running with the track and field team at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX.

All five of these exemplary students and athletes expressed gratitude to their coaches, teachers, administrators, and parents before signing to accept their scholarships.

Alexander High School Principal Ernesto Sandoval hopes scholarship signing events like this will teach other students the importance of hard work and dedication. “In order for them to get there, they have to put in the work, the effort; they have to grind into what their goal is. Don’t come home until you’re done. You have to finish what you start,” he said.

United Independent School District commends these and all other students who have either signed scholarships or have been accepted into colleges and universities, and wishes them success and prosperity in their futures.
